Getting your jewelry organized and appraised

Now that the holidays are over, its a good time to take inventory of your jewelry, especially if you're crazy about jewelry, and get it organized. I recommend you put your rings, earrings, bracelets, and necklaces together and see what you have. This is also the time to review your insurance policy and be sure your valuable things are insured. Since metals and gemstones have increased in value, if your insurance values are more than two years old, they are too low. Send in any questions you might have about having your jewelry reappraised and happy new year!

One hundred years of love...

This is a photo of a bracelet we made for one of our customers that spans from 1890 to 2007. The hearts belonged to her grandmother and she wanted to add one of our Heartbeat of El Paso charms on it because she loves El Paso! We were honored to be chosen to be a part of the bracelet we restyled for her that she cherishes every day.

Every day we make a little bit of history here...

We'll build you a great wardrobe!

In Crazy About Jewelry: An Expert Guide for Buying, Selling and Caring for your Jewelry, I write about taking care of your unworn jewelry and transforming it into some really chic pieces. Here are some examples of what we can do with old gold, beads, pearls, and a variety of different chain links.

Gather up your things and bring them in for an EXTREME MAKEOVER!

It's not as easy as you think!

Running a jewelry store is a very complicated and yet enjoyable task. It appears that we are playing with beautiful gemstones and watches all day long, but it is much more involved. For instance, we get asked technical questions about watches every time someone drops one in for repair or is looking to buy one. It is a constant learning experience to be able to accurately answer the questions posed to us. That is why it is so important for us to constantly stay ahead of the market by attending workshops and courses from appraisals to gemology, to keep us up to par. And that is what makes us unique...and allows you to have the most knowledgeable help with all your jewelry and watch purchases.

Remember, there's a lot that goes on behind the scenes!

Brown and White Diamonds...

What a hit!

I like to scour the markets looking for the unusual. Here are some brown diamond watches with mother-of-pearl dials that are really enjoyable and very unique!

If you're looking for an unusual watch that will be the source of many compliments, come in so we can show them to you!

What do I mean when I say REDESIGN?

Lets say you have an old, out of style ring with lots of diamonds that you never wear. Your mother gave it to you before she died, so it means a lot to you...but you never wear it!

Bring it in to the store and we will remove the diamonds and make a new ring for you or diamond pendant and earring sets for for each of your daughters and granddaughters.

Not only do these new pieces of jewelry put your mother's ring to good use, but they also share with all your girls the memories of your mother.

This is what I mean when I say redesign! Lets do it together!

Our Latest Creation...

One of our special customers brought in a beautiful aquamarine to set in a pendant. Neither she nor her Mom ever enjoyed it as a pin and it sat in their drawers, never worn. Together we designed a contemporary deco style enhancer to wear on her omega. It beams just like her personality! Let us create the same thing for you.

Put on your Hoops for the Holidays!

Diamond hoops are a wonderful addition to any jewelry wardrobe. We make them in all sizes and shapes and we can use diamonds from old rings and bracelets to put them together.

Gather up your old jewelry and bring them in for a Holiday makeover!

Jewelry Makeover™ Madness!

While the year comes to an end, think about getting all your jewelry together, bringing it in and letting me do a fantastic Jewelry Makeover™!

Here's what I mean...one of my customers bought this coin pendant while on a trip and then realized it was too large for her neck. She brought it in this Christmas and we cut it down, redesigned the outside shape, added a new chain, and she loves it now!
